Safari Camps

We stayed in three separate camps, all owned by the same company, for three days each.

The Kicheche Laikipia Camp comprised of six luxurious tents nestled in the shadows of Mount Kenya at the foot of an indigenous forest overlooking a waterhole. Although located on the Equator, the camp is at an altitude of 6,000 ft meaning that the mornings and evenings were cold due to the influence of the mountain.

Charlotte still can’t believe that she is sitting in a tent!

Our second stop was at the Kicheche Mara Camp; a beautiful tented camp hidden in the Acacia valley in the Mara North Conservancy. This was the largest camp with 11 luxury tents housing up to 22 people. The tents were laid out alongside a seasonal stream where we observed the resident birdlife and plains game beyond.

Kicheche Valley was located in acacia woodlands in a secluded valley of the Naboisho Conservancy. It was a very small, luxurious tented camp with only six tents. Each tent was unique and like before, each had its own en-suite facilities powered by solar power.

We could enjoy camping if it was always like this!
