Everyday, there were two wildlife game drives in each of the camps. The first one meant an early 6am start, before sunrise, with a breakfast stop around 9:30am. We needed jumpers, gloves and a fleece as it was always cold. The hot water bottles provided by our guides were definitely appreciated. We returned to camp around 11:30am for cold drinks before lunch at 1pm.
Following a rest or snooze during the mid-day heat, we went out for our second game drive around 4:00pm. Sundowner drinks and bitings were consumed al-fresco on the plains before returning to camp, after sunset, in the dark around 7:15pm. During our stay at Laikipia, we also did a Night Drive with our guide, Simon. Great fun!
Breakfast; the best meal of the day – Saruni and Charlotte in the shade of a lone tree with the plains stretching into the distance.
Charlotte and Simon – it is definitely getting warmer!
